BRIGANDINE ABYSS Battle System
Battles in BRIGANDINE ABYSS are turn-based and take place on a hexagonal grid — the HEX simulation tradition of the Brigandine series. You command units of monsters and knights against enemy forces, with the choice to focus down enemy leaders to force a retreat or defeat each unit one by one.
How does combat work in BRIGANDINE ABYSS? Battles are turn-based and take place on a hexagonal grid. You can focus down enemy leaders to force a retreat, or defeat each unit one by one. Strategy is in your hands.
The Hexagonal Grid
- HEX simulation tradition — The series has always used hexagonal grid battlefields, and Adglobe's game design team built the battles in this tradition.
- Positioning matters — Terrain, facing and unit placement on the hex grid determine who strikes first and from where.
Unit Commands
- Command troops of monsters — Characters and monsters live and fight together; monster units add variety and power to your army.
- Leaders and commanders — Each army is led by a leader character. Lose your leader and the battle can turn against you fast.
Core Tactics
- Focus enemy leaders — Focus down enemy leaders to force a retreat. Winning a battle by routing the enemy command is faster and costs fewer units.
- Or defeat each unit one by one — Grinding down every enemy unit is the alternative: slower, but it removes every threat on the field.
- Protect your own commander — Enemy AI will try to do the same to you; keep your leader alive and positioned defensively.
